The term "Fake News" has come up in the media more often since the election of President Donald Trump in 2016. Fake News had a huge impact on his election and how he came to get all the votes he got. My initial reaction before reading the required articles, I thought teenagers knew pretty well that not all "news articles" they see online may not be true. But recently fake articles are beginning to look more and more real just by mimicking professional formats and logos. And as I read more and more of the NPR article it shocked me. The article explained that students trusted a faux Fox News twitter more than the verified Fox News twitter. Some tips I would give to students or anyone who want to read news and trust it I would say that you should just research the topic by yourself. You can do this at a library or from a .gov website. Next, avoid social media. 10.1% of real news articles are found on social media that we use everyday. 41.8% found on your mothers facebook are fake news. (sciencenews.org)
